Blood Orange

Poems by Amanda Charlotte Earl

HUMMINGBIRDS

VIEW FROM THE FRUIT BOWL

beside me,
a raspberry
plump and dotty

to my right,
a sour apple
dried and cloistered,
she finds comfort
in raisins and prunes

my orange neighbour
splashes pulp
and juice balls

sweet scent
of Minneola
everywhere

I wait in the bowl
to be plucked
